Caio Facó is an internationally recognized composer, recipient of numerous awards and commissions, whose catalog of works ranges from solo to large orchestral music. He is currently based in Brazil, where he works as a Professor of Composition and Harmony at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. His music has been performed by Minas Gerais Philharmonic, Mivos Quartet (USA), Ensemble CEPROMUSIC (Mexico), Voxes Contemporánea (Argentina) and International Contemporary Ensemble (USA). Facó was awarded in prestigious music competitions, as the International Composers Competition (Portugal), the Biennial Festival of Brazilian Contemporary Music and, for three consecutive years, prizewinner of the Festival Tinta Fresca (the most important composition competition in Brazil). He also worked with Chamber Orchestra of Valdivia (Chile) and with Ensemble MPMP (Portugal) as a Composer in Residence. In 2021, he was appointed the first Guest Composer of OSESP String Quartet. Facó earned his graduate degrees at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul: PhD – 2022; Master – 2018.
